As a game/animation 3D animator, I have always dreamed of having access to a wide variety of beautiful 3D character models. This would allow me to animate them for dance, fight, and other scenes. However, I have often encountered limitations in finding such a diverse range of characters.
Now, this is my chance to offer all that I have learned into these new characters I make with all my efforts for you. I hope you enjoy!
For animating a shield or mace, first put them into the proper position you would want them to be( i preffer left or right hand in the default pose) . Then, you can put Blender into object mode and choose either the shield or mace. Hold control and then choose the hand IK controller (this will choose the whole rig, but hold on...). Then, press Ctrl + P and choose "Bone". Done! Now you will see that when you choose the rig and go into pose mode, the mace or shield will be moving with the rig.
For your convenience, I have set the polygon count of the models to a low level. This will provide better performance during the animation process. After you have completed your animation and poses, I recommend subdividing the models using the multiresolution modifier to achieve the desired level of detail.
Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else I can assist with on my Instagram.
