scene: Autumn Cabin
I’m excited to share my best scene so far, this autumn scene, created using Blender, Substance Painter, SpeedTree, and Gaea. I’ve always wanted to model an autumn scene, and I finally did it!
The landscape was sculpted in Blender, with several textures combined to create the final look. Trees and some plants were created in SpeedTree, while a few plants were also modeled directly in Blender.
The cabin, boat, ladder, pickax, shovel, and oil lantern were all modeled in Blender from scratch and then textured using Substance Painter. I used Gaea to create the snowy mountains. The clouds are volumetric and were also created inside Blender, along with the overall atmosphere.
There are two sets of lighting for the scene: one for daytime and the other for nighttime. You can choose between them, and remember to also plug them into the World shader too.
I also lowered the number of objects in the viewport so you can more easily navigate through the scene. When you hit render, it will load all the detailed assets to give you the final image you see in the thumbnail. If you continue to encounter performance issues, try unpacking the resources, this should significantly enhance performance.
The scene was created using Blender and rendered using Cycles. Most of the post-processing and color correction were also done in Blender.
